Molloy offers an accelerated dual degree program in education. After only five years of study, you can earn a BS or BA degree as well as an MS degree and dual certification in either childhood education and special education or adolescence education, biology, English, mathematics, social studies or Spanish and special education.

Music Education

Share your passion for music with the next generation: Earn a bachelor’s degree in Molloy’s music arts education program, which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

At Molloy, you’ll benefit from:

  • A dynamic, engaging curriculum that offers classical training on your primary instrument or voice as well as the core skills to help you connect with all students, both inside and outside the pre-K to grade 12 public school setting.
  • Applying an extensive functional skillset to the classroom setting, including proficiency in voice, keyboard, wind, brass, string and percussion instruments; conducting, arranging, solo and ensemble performance.
  • Diverse hands-on experience. You’ll design developmentally and culturally appropriate lessons and programming, while also student teaching in one elementary, middle- and high school setting.

Visual Arts Education

Childhood Educational Technology

Childhood Educational Technology

Effective online teaching can help you create learning opportunities that are engaging, meaningful, and equitable. This dual degree program at Molloy University prepares you to become an effective childhood teacher for grades 1-6 and an educational technology specialist for grades pre-K through 12.

At Molloy, you’ll benefit from:

  • Experience integrating educational technology to design and develop effective instruction. You’ll use such advanced integration models as universal design for learning (UDL), technology pedagogy and content knowledge (TPACK), and substitution augmentation modification and redefinition (SAMR).
  • A curriculum that aligns with today’s educational technology standards, including the national educational technology plan, the international society in technology education (ISTE) standards, computer science and digital fluency standards, professional development standards, and next-generation standards.
  • A program that provides you with the opportunity to be New York State certified as an educational technology specialist. It can enhance your content area teaching as well as allow you to teach digital literacy technology curriculum to K-12 students and provide professional development support to educators.
  • A wealth of career opportunities. As a New York State educational technology specialist, you may become a teacher of educational technology or a coordinator or administrator for educational technology at the district level; a STEM teacher or coordinator; a curriculum designer or developer, an online or hybrid teacher for grades pre-K to 12, or a technology facilitator or coordinator.
